Introduction to the Perspectives on Healthcare Podcast

In this introductory episode of the Perspective on Healthcare Podcast, host Rob Oliver explains where the show came from and what you can expect to hear.

He explains that the perspectives will vary on at least four dimensions: the guest’s role in healthcare, the venue in which they operate, their geographic location and their age. Healthcare roles will include doctor, nurse, therapist, administrator, patient, advocate, insurance representative, and more. The venues will include the emergency department, cancer wing, surgery, outpatient clinic, and physician’s office just to name a few. From a geographic perspective, there will be voices from the East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, South and, hopefully, International perspective. The goal is to include medical professionals from millennial’s through baby boomers.

Here is one Christians Perspective. Since 2005 I have been dealing with Myas-thenia Gravis. The medication causes seizures and this needs additional medication. At 85 years old I am also under the care of Oncologist, Urologist, cardiologist and Neurologist. As a Christian I am looking for the Lord to Come and know that the life of every creature is in God’s Hand. God gave His Son to died for my sins and therefore I do not have to fear death. To die is to be absent from the body and present with the Lord Jesus. They do not need to put me on life support. My health care providers are aware of this. In His hand is the breath of every creature. For the Christian to be with the Lord is far better. On August 27, 1951 God saved me. Christ died for the Ungodly. To be a Christian is a great privilege.
